The association is committed to stimulating thinking about design through conferences, competitions, exhibitions, publications and web sites. AIGA inspires, educates and informs designers, helping them to realize their talents and to advocate the value of design among the media, the business community, public agencies and the general public. No Spec is a web site that wants to educate Visual Communication Designers and those who use their services, on the damaging effects caused by spec work and spec-based design contests. Ryan Graphics does not do spec work and encourages all levels of designers, even students, to not sell yourself short. Creative Latitude is a web site that is about promotion and education. They seek to find ways to educate people about the creative process and the business value we as a designer, and our particular discipline, offer. Creativity, whether visual or the written word, affects people. It influences their thinking. Creative Latitude is a great resource to learn about various trade practices, ethics and processes. LogoLounge is a web site that is an indispensable research tool, reference guide and online portfolio for everyone in the identity design community. It is the site of record, information and inspiration for logo design. From legends to up-and-comers, LogoLounge is the place to be. Logo Pond is a place to fish for ideas for branding and identity work. It is a great resource for graphic designers to browse, learn and upload their logo work. There is a featured gallery where my "Hawaiian Historical Print Society" logo earned a few moments of fame. In addition, fans can post comments for outstanding work or not so outstanding work. There is industry-related news, galleries, a job board, tips & tricks, and much more. Creative Shake, formerly Portfolios.com, is a comprehensive online resource showcasing creative talent. For over 10 years, art directors, creative directors, marketing managers, publishers and other businesses have come to rely on Creative Shake as a leading resource for high-quality artists of every profile to staff creative projects. The web site also manages a job board and sponsors an annual award show competition judged by industry professionals.
